TAX REBATE
Tax Rebate for 2007 has expired.
Because we are a HOME RULE Community, Mayor Dwight W.Welch and the City Council of Country Club Hills are able to provide Country Club Hills homeowners the seventh consecutive Residential Property Tax Rebate. I, Deborah McIlvain, as City Clerk, have worked with the City Attorney in crafting this Ordinance and establishing the Administrative aspects of this program. Money has been designated in the current Fiscal Year 2006/2007 budget to rebate over $1,000,000 to the resident homeowners of the City of Country Club Hills. This rebate is again made possible by continual increases in economic development in our City.
Economic development, prudent fiscal management, and the steady increases in our EAV Equalized Assessed Valuation), and our HOME RULE authority make the tax rebate program, now in its seventh year, a reality for homeowners here in Country Club Hills. This means VALUE to you, the homeowner.
As economic development continues, our administration is anticipating further rebates in fiscal year 2007/2008. To continue the program, it is important that we support our local businesses by shopping Country Club Hills. With the opening of Wal-Mart in 2006 and many other new businesses, our rebate program is expected to grow in succeeding years. Increased Economic Development means VALUE to you, the homeowner. We remain the only community to offer free senior snow plowing, as well as numerous other programs for our citizens. We are very proud of our record of accomplishments as the number one HOME RULE community in the south suburbs.
In the downloadable document below is the “Application for Year 2006 City of Country Club Hills Property Tax Rebate Program”. Please fill out the application, attach the requested documents, and indicate by your signature that you certify all statements as true. (Please note: If your mortgage company or lender pays your taxes from an escrow fund through your payments, verification of payment of 2005 real estate property taxes can be obtained by calling your mortgage company/lender. (Otherwise, proof of payment status is available on line at http://www.cookcountytreasurer.com in the “Payment Status” section.) The application, along with the requested documentation, must be received at the Clerk's office no later than February 28, 2007. Please mail the completed application with required documents to:

Applications will be verified and rebate checks will then be processed and mailed. No applications will be accepted after February 28, 2007. THE FILING OF THE APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE APPROVAL BY THE CITY OF COUNTRY CLUB HILLS.
