PUBLIC RELATIONS

Director of Community Relations
The Public Relations Department serves as a liaison for businesses, residential development, Chamber of Commerce, and promotional activities related to the City.  The Director of Public Relations also serves as coordinator for city-sponsored events related to business and residential development.

Business Development - In conjunction with the Mayor, City Council, City Clerk, City Manager and Planner, the Public Relations Director is involved in many activities promoting business development, including attending all Chamber of Commerce meetings and assisting with business promotion and economic development of new and existing businesses.

Residential Development - The Public Relations Director is responsible for the creation and production of the Welcome Book for new residents and the bi-monthly city newsletter.  In addition, this department maintains the Community Events Hotline, a phone message indicating current events in the city.

PUBLIC ACCESS CABLE COMMISSION

The Cable Commission produces quality programming and is respected throughout the community for its hard work and dedication to the maintenance of our round-the-clock public access cable channel (channel 4 in Country Club Hills).  This commission has a modern studio with editing equipment and multiple cameras, which are used to film and edit a stunning variety of programs for public viewing by our residents.  Key programs include:

City Council Meetings – the bi-monthly City Council meeting are aired as a community service, three times each week.

Shopping – This show highlights local personal-care businesses in Country Club Hills and encourages our residents to “SHOP COUNTRY CLUB HILLS.”

Earth/Arbor Day – This is a day of recommitment to keeping the earth beautiful.  Participants plant trees during the televised recommitment ceremony.

Memorial Day – This special prodution documents our yearly Memorial Day ceremony, in which the Mayor, along with guests and residents, pay tribute to veterans and those who are currently serving our country.

Santa Fly-In  - This program chronicles a beloved annual community event in Country Club Hills that gives children the opportunity to meet and greet Santa Claus every December.
